Tupelo Lee Animal Shelter

Pros: Doing a great job with what they have!

Cons: Would be nice if they could get more funding for a new facility.

Review Details

I have lived in Tupelo for a bit over 4 years now, I have seen a lot happen at the shelter in those 4 years. They are doing a lot with very little funding and cooperation from the city, so it seems to me. The workers at the shelter are helpful and have very caring hearts.

The adoption promo that they ran was a good idea! They should do another! I also love the fact that they require that all animals be altered before they can go home with you.

It seems the city needs to enforce the leash law and collecting fines, there are way too many animals in this shelter.

I come from a small town in NW NY state where all dogs must be licensed for a very nominal fee, last I knew it was $7 for spayed or neutered dogs and $25 for unneutered, male dogs and $35 for unspayed female dogs. The price difference was enough to make sure that people had their animals altered so they didn't make any more unwanted babies.
