Review Details

I visited the Washington County, TN shelter shortly after moving here. EVeryone was very friendly and I filled out a volunteer application. The dog pens and cat cages were all clean with lots of toys, bedding and fresh food and water.

I volunteered for a couple of months-primarily for the cats, but I also walked dogs and cleaned their pens as well. I just could no longer bear knowing that the cat I cared for today would be gone when next I came due to the sheer lack of space for all the cats that were surrendered. i cannot imagine being the one to decide who stays another day and who does not.

Even though I could no longer volunteer, I didn't leave before adopting Sgt. Joe Friday (called Jim at the shelter). He is a real sweetheart and I know he appreciates being adopted.

These gals and guys at Washington County shelter are great, they really need your support to expand this facility.
