Pros: TEARS take animals that would otherwise be left to die

Cons: TEARS is in desperate need of funding and volunteers

TEARS helps animals that many would give up on. They provide medical care, shelter, rehabilitation and socialization for all kinds of animals, not just dogs and cats. TEARS is home to ducks, geese, reptiles, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs along with all the dogs and cats. Everyone at TEARS is compassionate, loving and has the animals' best interests at heart. They screen all applicants before allowing adoptions to make sure these special animals go to the right 'forever' homes. Right now, TEARS needs donations badly - money, food, bedding, crates, volunteer time - whatever you can give will be appreciated.

TEARS is sponsoring a "Rescue Run" at Oak Mountain on March 14th, 2009 to raise money for the shelter - check it out on the Birmingham Track Club's calendar:

TEARS is taking in more animals due to current economic conditions leaving people to abandon their homes and animals. They are in dire need of funding and donations - please help!
