This is by far the best shelter I have ever visited. The vet techs are awesome! The staff is very caring and the facility is clean. They work extremely hard and each and every one of them is committed to saving as many animals as possible and finding only the best homes for them. The public education they provide is priceless.

STAAR is the greatest. There is so much dedication to the quality care of the dogs it is beyond words. The director works tirelessly to take care of 70+ dogs. she ensures the are healthy, well fed, and socialized - with pleanty of playtime.
There are spcial needs dogs that are taken care of that will never be put down. One blind dog and two deaf dogs will either be adopted or live their lives on the ranch without fear of being put down.
" We are responsible for what we have tammed" and STAAR does this without hesitation.
