My observation is that working at an animal shelter is bittersweet. You are helping homeless pets but sometimes the outcome is not what you hope for. Paws serves the Lumpkin County/North Georgia area and attempts to place homeless pets with new owners. I don't think shelter volunteers get the credit they deserve. I suppose the wagging of a tail or purring from a cat is the biggest reward they get. More people need to be responsible and spay or neuter their pets. Emptier cages at the shelters would be a great thing!
It takes a lot of man hours and love to run a shelter so sign up for Paws and help them save animals!
