Established in 1999, Atlanta Pet Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-based, no-kill, animal rescue organization dedicated to the care and placement of homeless dogs and cats. We rescue the majority of our animals from shelters where they are destined to die. Others come from pet owners who are unable or unwilling to care for their pets any longer.
In 2003, we rescued and adopted out over 1,000 dogs and 150 cats.
In 2004, we rescued and adopted out over 1,250 dogs and 120 cats.
In 2005, we rescued and adopted out almost 1,200 dogs and 127 cats.
In 2006, we rescued and adopted out almost 1,100 dogs and 132 cats.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?
The pressure to keep growing is overwhelming. We need your support to continue our efforts and meet the demand for growth. Atlanta Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating on a shoestring budget. We are successful because of financial support from our donors. Adoption fees alone cannot sustain our work. Many of our rescues require expensive medical care - our annual vet bills exceed $80,000 annually. We rely on generous donations from our supporters to enable us to provide the necessary care and treatment of our ill or injured rescued companion animals.
