Review Details
Seven years ago we adopted both of ours dogs from the HSCC. Our adoption counselor was very helpful and worked with us to get the best match for our family. A few years later I began volunteering with them. It has been a great experience. Other volunteers know a lot about animals and are a great resource for our community. The amount of time that they dedicate is amazing and so many animals are saved because of it. They have been an inspiration for me to tell more people about our humane society and to spread the word about spaying and neutering so there will be fewer animals thru our shelter that have to be euthanized. The HSCC offers a lot of opportunity for the animals to meet people at adoption events and works with most of the animals for socialization training. The adoption counselors care about the animals and are concerned with finding a loving home for the animals. They work hard at helping and are greatly appreciated!!

I agree with your comments. I volunteer with the organization and definitely see that they are very careful about who adopts the animals. They like to make certain that the dogs are a good match for the person adopting them. The better matched they are, the less likely the dog will be returned to the shelter because of the pairing not working out. We always want to make certain that the person adopting the animal will give it the best care possible and lots of love.
I've been volunteering with HSCC for two years now and am always reminded of how caring and dedicated the volunteers are. I'm amazed that they are able to hold full-time jobs and maintain the level of volunteering they do. Kudos to all the volunteers; you're efforts pay off big time for the animals. We have such big dreams for our organization and for animals in the area. I hope everyone's hard work with this contest pays off for us in some form or another if not financially. I think spreading the word about the contest has made people start thinking more about how they can help local humane societies or shelters.
