I do not live in P-town anymore but when I did, the shelter staff could not have been more helpful when our beloved Peke wondered off one evening. We roamed the streets in the rain looking for her until about 1:00 AM with no luck. The next day we called PHS to ask if anyone had turned in or reported finding our dog. No one had but they took our info and didn't mind me calling back almost every hour to check again. Thankfully for us, a kind hearted lady found our dog wandering the rain and took her home. She called PHS to report finding a dog and they put us in contact with her. What a blessing they were! They help more than just the poor souls that wind up in the shelter- they also look out for those who never come through their doors.
