I worked at this Shelter for years and the staff is excellent! They try so hard to make sure every animal that comes into the shelter is received with love and care regardless of the animals condition or behavior.
They do very thorough screening of adopters and it is truly with the best interest of the animals and the adopters! If you are looking to just breeze in and make a split second decision on getting a pet, don't bother going to this shelter. They want people that will adopt pets for life! And their goal is to make good matches for owners and pets!
The shelter provides a lot of services to the City of Alexandria and also puts on some great fund raisers!
