Pros: Major focus is on the care and wellbeing of the aimals.
Cons: Very old, inadequate building
I've spent a lifetime working in the sheltering and rescue of animals, and Dessin is the best I've worked with. They care about the animals, are very careful about placement, all animals are temperament tested, spayed/neutered and microchipped before leaving for their forever homes. There is no breed prejudice. Each animal is evaluated on its own merits. And Dessin is dedicated to their low cost spay/neuter voucher program.
The work that they accomplish in a very cramped and clearly outdated shelter is a tribute to the dedication of the staff.
