Pros: caring, kind volunteers, in it for the horses - period!
Cons: NONE!
I have volunteered from day one with this rescue.
My wife, Jo Deibel, is the founder and started Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue on a shoe string.
Jo is dedicated, as are all of the Angel Acres volunteers, Patty, Fran, Chuck, Ann, Jackie, Craig, and more all are great people to work with.
Angel Acres has saved and/or helped place over 250 horses into wonderful homes in the past 5 years. Most horses are thoroughbred race horses, horse no longer fast enough to earn their keep.
The horses are better taken care of them most people I know. When Jo says "its time for dinner" we all immediately go outside to feed the horses and other animals.
Jo has spent many, many nights sleeping in the barn with new horses, sick horses, injured horses, and never complains.
The horses are fed, watered, hayed and their stalls cleaned daily. They are brought up to date on shots, feet, teeth, deworming and then made available for adoption.
The rescue process from save to adoption, is time consuming and hard, but for Angel Acres it is a labor of love. Angel Acres prides itself on its commitment to the horses and their adopters.
Angel Acres proudly stands behind each and every horse adopted out and will provide tremendous followup support for all adopters.
Angel Acres has horses adopted out to nearly every state in the country and one lucky guy lives in Canada.
Angel Acres never judges people or plays any sort of games. They conduct themselves with professionalism, honesty and integrity and are striving to bridge the gap between rescue and racing.
