Cons: Large animals with large needs - and growing!
I cannot remember how Angel Acres first came to my attention. I think a random email landed in my inbox describing a simple need for an abused horse. Just a few dollars changed this magnificent animals' life. I have been hooked.
It is easy to watch tear-jerking ads on TV about dogs and cats (I have three shelties who are like my kids) and immediately sense the very real needs for the lap cuddlers. However, horses are just as loyal and affectionate as any smaller animal companion and deserve any and everything we can possibly do to keep them from abuse, neglect and untimely death.
In the present economic crisis coupled with the rising cost of feeding large animals and farmland depletion, the plight of horses are possibly growing more dire by the day. Angel Acres deserves to be ready to love, rehabilitate and provide adoptive connections for these ancient allies of humanity.

Be sure to add a picture to your Profile page. My understanding is that anyone who is a member of ZooToo AND has a Profile picture can vote in Phase 3. I don't know if you will be able to load one after the voting begins. Since eligible people will be able to vote 10 times a day (again, my understanding), being eligible is HUGE. I believe all of the shelters in this competition are in desperate need of this makeover, and I also believe that we are all very deserving of the money. I wish you a sincere Good Luck!
