Review Details

I have chosen to volunteer at the Washington Area Humane Society because the need is so great.

It is a very poor shelter. It runs on a shoestring.

Winning this contest would mean so much.

The Washington Area Humane Society is run by private donations. It is a struggle from month to month.

The shelter needs a completely new building.

The staff does a wonderful job but the shelter needs money to tear down the old dilapidated building and build a building that will take the shelter into the 21st century.

I think anyone living in Washing County should try to get involved with the Washington Area Humane Society.

You're review hits the nail on the head. I volunteer at WAHS for the same reasons you do, and I get a lot of joy from it. I really hope that we can pull together and earn enough points to get in the top 20! Our shelter is in such need, and getting in the top 20 and winning money for the shelter is definitely within reach if we work together. Thanks for volunteering

I am so glad you volunteer at the Washington Area Humane Society. You are right - they are in dire need of assistance and money and a makeover would be fantastic. I agree that anyone who lives in Washington County should get involved with the animal shelter. I am from Allegheny County and travel to this shelter for the same reason you do - it needs so much help. Thanks for volunteering.
This is such a wonderful, caring shelter, however, it needs so much help! A new facility is definately in order as it has not been able to change much since I was a child getting my kitten there about 25 years ago! I am now volunteering walking the dogs there and would so like to see the animals, staff, and potential forever friends have a better environment in which to meet, heal, learn and work.
You are doing a terrific job! Your presence is making a difference. Thanks.
