My daughter and I have been volunteers at WAHS for the past three years. I continue to be amazed by the dedication of the volunteers and staff of the shelter. The staff truly love the animals. There are so many dedicated volunteers working to raise funds for the shelter and spending time making improvements to the buildings and the grounds. It is amazing how much everyone does for the animals. The limiting factor in what these dedicated people can accomplish is money. With more money, they would be able to help more homeless animals.

My daughter and I also volunteer at the Washington Area Humane Society. We enjoy the quality time that we get to spend with each other and the quality time that we are able to give the dogs when we walk them and go to the pen areas to play fetch - they just love to run and release lots of energy. Let's hope that these loving dogs find a home they have been hoping for and waiting for. Glad you and your daughter volunteer - they sure need the help.
