Pros: Clean and well lit, animals very well cared for, prices are excellent on adoptions, the staff is wonderful and will take all the time in the world to assist you with whatever you might need
Cons: I guess the cons would be the same here as everywhere else as far as an animal lover is concerned, too many animals and not enough room at home to take them all with me
My special little boy Figaro left this world for his wings and halo in April 2007. Several weeks later, I adopted Tiny, a sweet little princess cat who had been in the shelter for almost 2 months. She had been dropped off as a stray during some of the coldest weather we have and she was a sick little girl. The SPCA brought her back to good health and she was put up for adoption. Everyone at the SPCA was friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and bright and the animals were well cared for. When we checked out, the people went over her diet with me and gave a coupon for the store inside the SPCA. They also went over all the medications she had been given during her stay and what to watch for since she had been sick with an upper respiratory infection, in case it comes back. They followed up a few weeks later with a card wanting to know how everything was going with our new addition. I will go there again when it's time to add to the family once more. It was a pleasant experience overall

Well, we've done it again - we added 2 more family members on December 20th. We adopted 2 guinea pigs, named Hershey and Nibbles from the Erie County SPCA and again, the service was wonderful. I was glad to see they were pretty busy and we had to wait to sign in, etc..but to me, it was worth it - animals were going home and getting out of the shelter and that's more important then my time. My oldest daughter was ecstatic, these little guys are for her since her gerbil died a few weeks ago and we told her she could adopt a new friend. They were surrendered together, so we took them both. Then we went shopping in The Petique, where we bought a huge cage at a steal of a price, plus some other needed supplies. One of the guys even carried out the cage to the van and we didnt even ask him to, he just did it - Very cool! Another successful visit, very happy!!
