Ten Lives Club is a registered non-profit organization that is made up of volunteers all devoted to the club's mission, "to promote, further and enhance all cat life". All cats matter to us no matter if a stray, a personal pet, a feral (wild cat) or a sick cat. Since our start, our organization has rescued, adopted out and assisted over 8,000 cats.
Once a cat is surrendered to our group a thorough evaluation is done by one of our affiliated vets and all the necessary testing and shots are given. Most important, they are spayed and neutered. TLC believes strongly that the answer to the serious pet overpopulation problem is to spay and neuter!
The dream of Ten Lives Club was started in January 2001 and started on our founder’s (Marie Edwards) property in a tiny little garage that served as the Ten Lives Club shelter for several years.
In 2007, we reached our vision to own our very own shelter. We purchased a foreclosed restaurant property that now serves as our 5,000 square foot shelter. There are 21 rooms housing various need cats until adoption. Cats are allowed to roam freely in rooms furnished with couches, tables, cat beds, and lots of food, water, and toys.
We were able to purchase the property at quite a reduced price due to all the repairs needed. Going from a restaurant to an animal shelter meant a lot of work. We have come a long way in making the shelter safe and comfortable for the cats however, the shelter needs insulation, a new roof, ventilation, heating, new windows etc. Winning the Zootoo Makeover Contest would certainly take care of all these needs!
A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone for their continued support!
