The Jefferson County S.P.C.A is a non-profit agency that was founded over 100 years ago. We are the only NO kill facility in this area and the only facility to accept cats in Jefferson County. As a non-profit agency, we exist on the donations that we receive from the general public and from our various fundraising events.
Our Goals
Our goals include reducing the numbers of unwanted companion animals in Jefferson County. It is equally important to our agency to reduce the amount of animal abuse and neglect that is committed in this area. In addition, we are actively involved in public awareness and education at all age levels. We also have a spot on channel 7 news every Monday morning around 6:50am. We are also striving to provide a better quality of life for those animals that are entering a shelter environment and a better quality of pet to those that adopt from our shelter. Our facility, along with all the other animal lovers, are here for the abandoned, abused, and misplaced animals and we all have the best interest of our shelter friends at heart.
We also have many fundraisers through out the year which we wouldn't be able to put together with out the help and support of the local businesses and volunteers. Some of those would be the annual auction at the end of the year, the valentines day dinner dance, a few golf tournaments, a bowling event, a cowpie bingo & chicken barbeque and a few others that are in the works.
