Our dog Coal

I got my Lab Mix, Coal at this shelter. We were looking for a dog that would be good with kids at the time and I really had no idea what kind of dog would fit into our family. I brought my 4 kids and we began looking at the dogs. Of course your heart goes out and you want to adopt all of them. A little overwhelmed, the staff asked us some questions and talked to the kids about what they wanted in a dog. They told us they had the perfect dog. The girl went out and brought in this dog that was on the last run and was barking. Once off the chain and with the kids it was love. Our Coal has been the best dog we ever had and he lived many years with us. I had to put him down because he got cancer and went blind. I could tell you some great stories about this dog and he is missed. I believe in our local SPCA because they really care about matching good homes with the right animal.
