They Have the Hearts. They just need the Funding.

Pros: You can tell that they truly care about the furry friends there. They definitely do their best with what they have. The friends all seem comfortable and well taken care of. Even though it's extremely crowded (especially the cat area), they do their very best to give each friend the space, comfort and dignity they deserve. I was also impressed with the fact that they check a home and potential owners out thoroughly before placing an animal in a home instead of just trying to get rid of it.

Cons: They definitely need more assistance and funding. The building needs many upgrades. Unfortunately, they can't do that without the proper funding.

Review Details

I came across this shelter by chance after I lost my Best Friend. Aside from NSAL, I had never been to any other "real" shelters. At first, I was slightly shocked at the "conditions" the poor, abandoned and unwanted angels were living in. NOT because the conditions were bad, but because there were literally dozens of friends that simply were left to fend for themselves and had ended up there. Immediately, my heart broke. After speaking with the people who worked there and seeing the compassion they showed these homeless furbabbies, it was clear the animals are in good hands (and hearts). Every person that works there truly cares about the well-being of those unfortunate souls. They do the best with what they have and the little they are given. I also interacted with several of the dogs, and they were absolutely loving and precious! All they want is to be loved and taken care of. They don't have a mean bone in their furry bodies. If anyone is looking for a new Best Friend, definitely check out this shelter and you will see exactly what I mean.
