We got our first cat before kids about 10 years ago they have a great number of animals for adoption the shelter is very clean and very updated and most of the staff were accomodating and helpful. we went to the Animal Orphanage for our next pet (a dog named lucy); and plan to go back over the summer to look for a new pet for our growing family.

good idea waiting for the summer when the kids are out of school since it gives them a chance to get acclimated with the new pet and alot of time to work with them. hope you will also consider the animal orphanage too
