Supporting Shelter: ST. HUBERT'S ANIMAL WELFARE CENTER-MADISON

Pros: A Loving & Caring Staff!

Cons: Need more kennel/meeting space and a "facelift" for meet & greet rooms, etc.

I am blessed to be a volunteer at St. Huberts in Madison, NJ. Although I am only there one day a week to volunteer, during which time I get to spend time with the dogs up for adoption, I see a lot of "behind the scenes" activity. During that time, workers (some of whom are only volunteers), are hard at work as they're scrubbing the floors, kennels, crates, food bowls, etc. And although this is all tedious work, everyone has love in their hearts as they sweep and scrub, for the love of their animals, waiting for homes. These beautiful souls always have time to say hello to a cat or a dog that comes passing by....and it's not just "Hi Puppy".....these workers ALWAYS know each animal by name. The dogs are walked, coached and provided with toys for some fun. If an animal is in pain, the whole mood of the shelter will change...as tears are wiped away with the brush of a sweatshirt's sleeve, followed by a heartfelt prayer. Those at St. Huberts aren't just a group of workers haphazardly thrown together...they are a group of beautiful Spirits that God brought together as a united family, working together, side-by-side, to better His Animal Children.

Caly, you could not have described the shelter any better than this. This job is a lot of hard work, and you are right, it is all done out of love for the animals. Thank you for the nice description of the staff, it is very kind of you!
