What can I say about Second Chance? Well, Second Chance has had a Great Impact on my life. I have been envolved with Second Chance since 2005. You see I did my internship here. I was a Animal Care Student at Becker, very shy and quiet. That was before Second Chance. Working with the animals by cleaning cages, playing with the cats and walking the Dogs really helped me to come out of my shell, I had found a purpose and a goal...I was part of something much more than myself. I was helping Pets in need to find homes. Having Been a Vet Tech Student a Becker, it wasn't long till I found myself helping with the Animal's Medical Needs...By the End of the summer, I'd found more then just a place for myself...I'd also found a very sweet boy who also loves animals...I met my Fencee Devon here at Second Chance...I still remember the day he asked me out for the first Time, I was cleaning a Cat cage (the bottom one, of course) and I had my whole front half in the cage when he whipped open the door and asked me out to go have Ice Cream. My head still hurts...But anyways back to the shelter, Soon after I finished my internship, I was offered a position to be the Kennel Manager, an invation I glady excepted. That was in January of 06...well as we all know working in a shelter you wear many hats and it turns out my Medical backround became very handy and I'm now not only involved in animal care, I also work as the Clinical Manger and as the Small Animal Director...So how have I changed since I joined the SCAS Family...I am more outgoing and a lot happier...I found the love my life both in a boy and in a Dog (our Dog Ranger was adopted from Second Chance) and I have lots of Friends, no lets call them more of a faimly here at the shelter...so if your interested in adopting a Pet, come by, we'd be more than happy to make your family part of our Family...~Kristen
