The Humane Society for Seattle

I adopted our girl cat, Calliope, a real sweetie of a cat, from this shelter, and have visited the facility in Bellevue a couple of times when I was getting ready to adopt a new dog. (We ended up adopting from a rescue Aussie group.) I really like the staff and volunteers at the shelters, and the work they put into assessing and adopting out their animals, but both locations of the shelter are disgraceful in terms of being too small, too crowded, and filled with noisy sad stressed animals. They DESPERATELY need a makeover.
