The first thing you notice about this shelter is that it is clean and well kept.

The staff, from paid employees to volunteers, is extremely knowledgable and yes, helpful. They really know the animals in their care and are genuninely invested in finding the right fit between potential pet parents and adoptees.

A tour around the shelter confirms a full house but no overcrowding. The cats have an indoor/outdoor set up that is truly unique. During the day they have their choice of lounging and sunbathing areas with hillside views or up close and personal for any kitties who want to keep an eye on the comings and goings in the lobby. The dogs are kenneled but get a lot of outdoor play time and training, socialization as needed. Bottom line, it is the next best place to a permanent home for the animals staying here.

Pros: an educated staff with plenty of heart, very clean, provides services to the community such as their vaccination clinic and canine boarding facility

Cons: shelter could use updating/remodel
