This little shelter helps a very large population of needy critters.

this shelter is amazing. the dedicated staff works hard to protect, immunize, neuter, and place animals. As well as the steady flow of homeless animals,there are huge influxes of unwanted pets to place when the "summer people" go home. they do an excellent job, utilizing newspaper photos, a radio program and a wonderful thrift shop. the Dog House thrift shop is the busiest in the whole area, raising money for the animals and the shelter. Run almost exclusively with volunteer help, their contributions helped open the new low-cost neuter-spay clinic last year.

Pros: serves tons of animals in the white mountain area with limited resources
