We save the lives of thousands more animals than all other agencies in Southern Arizona combined.

OUR WORK

We save the lives of our homeless, abandoned, and often abused, animals. We receive, shelter and care for nearly 13,000 lost and unwanted companion animals each year.

OUR MISSION

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the general welfare, sheltering and placement of animals; prevention of cruelty to animals and animal overpopulation; education concerning humane treatment of animals; and involvement in other animal welfare issues.

OUR VISION

To end euthanasia of adoptable animals...
where one day, no healthy companion animal will be euthanized for lack of a home, for lack of space, or for lack of compassion.

Our new kitten Brooklyn

posted 5 years ago

We adopted a sweet little kitten we call Brooklyn on January 23, 2009. She has adjusted to her new environment and has been doing very well. Brooklyn is a rambunctious little sweetheart and we love her very much!

Pros: Friendly and comfortable atmosphere

Cons: Slight animal smells but that's normal

The Best

posted 5 years ago

We adopted one of our animals from The Humane Society of Southern Arizona and she was a real winner. She gave us many years of pleasure. The Humane Society was also a great responder recently when they rescued over 200 dogs (and birds ) from a breeder. They worked with veterinary's and saved the ones they could and housed and cared for the pregnant ones and those that had just delivered puppies. They held special adoptions for the available animals and farmed the healthy ones out to other areas that were able to place the animals in good homes. Tucson is lucky to have such a compassionate shelter with a caring staff and many many volunteers.

Pros: Care about Humane treatment of animals

Cons: The facility is old and could use some remodeling

My new kitten Brooklyn was spayed here. They did a great job and I could hardly tell where the incision site was.
