The shelter is presently located at the home of Carol Weigel. Most of the larger dogs are kept in covered runs outdoors. It was really tough last winter with all the snow. The cats and smaller dogs are kept indoors in a room that Carol had built onto her home to do her art work. with all the animals I do not have time for the art work and helping the animals is much more rewarding
We had a building donated which we had moved to land donated by Carol. The moveing of the building cost us nearly $30,000 and we had a full basement put under it. This was done with proceeds from the thrift shop, benefits and donations. We have a thrift shop in the upper floor and need the money to finish the basement of 2300 sq ft for the shelter. There are lots of windows and a good exhaust system will be installed. There will be outside runs and exercise areas. The cats will have a play room
We have adopted nearly 500 hundred animals in a little over 2 years. We are an all volunteer group and our pay is puppy kisses and kitty purrs. Our adoption fees are very reasonable because we all donate our time and we have a vet who gives us great breaks on the spays and neuters. We are on
We are in a small town in central Missouri but we have animals as far west as Eugene, Or, East to Mass. North to Niagera Falls, Canada and as far south as GulfPort, Ms. We do vet checks and screening before adoptions are finalized. We have made several trips to Kansas City and St.Louis to meet with transports and going to the airport to help the animals get on their way to new homes. We are located just North of Lake of the Ozarks.
We may be a small group but we all have big hearts when it comes to the animals.
