I love PWP they are the best and the friendliest people. I have been a volunteer for about 6 months now and I love htese people very much they have grown to be more of a family to me. I am glad that I met them. Susan and Cheryl do an awesome job , I love them soooo much. Teresa does a great job with the cats too. And all the staff and volunteers that work at the pound do such a great job. You are the best Family anyone could ever have. Dr. Karen and Dr. Teri are the best. I hope you win so we can have a bigger facility to help more animals. I love you all.

i have been volunteering for pwp for about 2 years. i am a licensed foster parent, and i occassionally assist with transportation, and in busy litter season, i clean cat cages once a week at the shelter, so i am well acquainted with its operation. our organizaton takes a back seat to no other in the dedication shown by the shelter employees and volunteers. this is evidenced by the iimproved statistics re euthanasia and the number os animals in our care placed in new homes or with rescue groups where they will have a better chance of being adopted than in the small rural area in which we are located. our biggest drawback is the lack of space and the means to expand. pwp does a remarkable job within the limitations we have

i have been associated with this program for about 3 years. i would like to give special kudos to two people who are very active in the organization. first, i would like to tell about teresa dudis, dvm. terri works full time for the department of agriculture in springfield, il. she also spend countless hours writing grants, vacinating animals for pwp, examining animals, setting up animal displays at various functions-adoptathons-and just recently spent the better part of her free time organizing and overseeing an auction and supper to raise money for pwp. most important, at least to the cats, she and teresa kline are almost exclusively responsible for the cats and kittens bought into our shelter.(in the interest of full disclosure, teresa is my daughter.) the two of them run the cat program with very little help. they both foster kittens and some cats, they run a feral cat program. teresa transports cats all over central illinois to find them homes, and she is constantly on the lookout for foster homes. teresa also works full time as an rn, and she is also very involved with her church. i feel that the success of our organization owes al lot to these two people. both of them are good ambassadors for the group, and have done much to raise public awareness of our mission and the plight of abandonded and abused animals

Pros: there is no one who works or volunteers for pwp that does not care deeply about the aninmals in our care

Cons: shelter is too small, not enough resources, no separate facilities for cats

I've adopted from PWP (Monster AKA Pickles), I've also had them help me place pets that I've taken in over the last few years. They are wonderful people to work with! A couple of years back, I watched helplessly as some young teen boys threw cats out their S10 window as they flew down Norris Farms Hill, I managed to pick up one of the cats, only one who lived.. "Faith" had every bad seizures from a awfully bad head injury.. I called PWP and ask for help on reporting the teens, and they did do everything they could, but we were unable to find the teens.. "Faith" gave a heck of a fight, but after 3 weeks of around the clock care and vet. bill of over $500, I had to put her down.. But I still Thank PWP parents for their concern and just how willing they were to help with finding "Faiths" killers..

Pros: They do everything they can to do help Mason And Logan County Pets

Cons: Is there a Con?

I have been working with Pets Without Parents for over 2 1/2 years - running their Petfinder site, fostering, and working as the ACF Purebreed Rescue Coordinator. Everyone with this group truly has a heart for animals and daily goes above and beyond to make life better for pets in Mason and Logan counties. Cheryl Patterson, the Animal Control Officer and Adoptions Coordinator for the group deserves a special pat on the back (in my opinion) for her tireless work to see animals leave the ACF alive and well. I am truly fortunate to work with this group!

Pros: Dedicated staff that truly care about animals.

Cons: Still small - could benefit from further monetary donations!

My hat is off to all that volunteer for this shelter. They strive for the best and are succeeding in it. I have literally seen Teresa Kline work so very hard for this cause. She goes above and beyond and I thank the Lord for people as committed to a purpose like her EVERY DAY!!
