This Humane Society cares about the animals they take in

posted 6 years ago

Shiawasee County's Humane Society is very small. They work well with rescues and provide excellent evaluation of their animals. They offer Heartworm testing and other services but don't charge an arm and a leg for a pet.

Pros: People actually CARE and want the animals saved

Cons: small, low budget, needs volunteers to help

Great place

posted 6 years ago

I adopted a wonderful dog a few years ago at the Collars for a Cause event. She is the most wonderful and sweetest dog ever. I didn't like that they held the event at the car dealearship as it was right next to the highway and the animals were already scared enough to be in a strange place with tons of people, but a lot of great animals got new homes that day.

THanks

Pros: friendly

Cons: NA

They need to put more resources toward the animals in their county--they expend very little tax dollars on the county's homeless animals
