I can't imagine life without my bunny Cherokee and Midwest Rabbit Rescue and Rehome is the place where I found him. I have volunteered several times at the rescue and it never ceases to amaze me just how much they are able to do with so little. The people who are affiliated with MWRRR are knowledgeable, compassionate, and willing to answer any question at any time.

Midwest really needs a makeover and my husband and I are doing all we can to ensure that they get the money they deserve.

When Chris and I went to see the rabbits at Midwest RR, I didn't know what to expect because I never owned a rabbit before. We also brought my twin sister along because she lived in Michigan as well and she was and still is a huge rabbit fan.

The staff there were so wonderful and gave us directions when we got lost getting there. They gave us a very in-depth history of each rabbit. While there, we observed how they handled the rabbits, how they let them out to run around for plenty of time, and how they made sure everything were okay. I felt comfortable there and wanted to volunteer but I lived about three hours away.

After a few hours handling the rabbits and spending some time with them, my husband and I decided on Emily and Rocket. It has been over a year now that Emily and Rocket had been adopted by us and they're doing wonderfully. They have been bonded with a third dutch named Bennie to form a trio when we adopted Bennie as a baby. (If anyone catches the catch phrase, props to them!)

We have plenty of pictures of the Jets and made our home their home and have plenty of space to run and even binkying around. We haven't forgotten Midwest RR and we will continue to be their clients based on how wonderful the agency was.

I just think it's so awesome that a group of people care about bunnies, so little people realize what great pets they really are. My brother just got a lion head bunny with his girlfriend and they love her. I am hoping you guys win this money, you need and deserve it very much and I hope I will get to help out in the summer.

I called this shelter to discuss the possibility of adopting a rabbit to bond with one I had and got loads of wonderful, free advice. The staff is very knowledgeable and works to educate new rabbit owners.

This shelter is taking a huge burden off of other animal rescues in the area by specializing in rabbit rescue. They also do a great service by educating the public about domestic rabbits and how to prevent their homelessness. The leaders are very knowledgable and do their best to use financial resources wisely!

Pros: Resourceful, motivated leaders!

Cons: They need more space, money, and help!
