Perfect Puppy
posted 2 years ago
I understand the worry for the Almost Home Humane Society, really I do. However, I found a perfect puppy at the shelter for our farm, I've been looking for months and there she was just sitting at the shelter waiting for someone to love her. Unfortunately, I can't adopt her because she'd be spending most of her time outside. I just don't understand why a golder retriever/red chow mix wouldn't be allowed to live outside with a huge barn as shelter (when she got to big to be in the house) I could see a smaller breed of dog having troubles living outside, but we've raised all of our dogs outside and had no problem with it. I understand that this is the policy of this shelter and not all shelters it's connected with, it's just frustrating, because Abigail is literally the only one in the lafayette/battleground/delphi/jasper county area that matches what I was looking for, and I can't adopt her because I wouldn't keep her cooped up in a house.
Pros: Provide clear info about the puppy
Cons: I can't keep her outside

I so wish.....
posted 4 years ago
I so wish... that people would be willing to donate more to this shelter! I swear, people get animals and then they just discard them like they are trash! Well, my animals are like my children, and I would never throw my boys out (and I have 4) so why would I throw the animals out? The shelter takes in these animals, and people dont adopt them, wont foster them, and wont help to feed, raise, or play with them! Why is that? Are people just that heartless that they dont care?
People dont seem to have an issue going out to get the cute cuddly little babies, but when they grow up, and there are issues with them, they just get rid of them. And in reality they have issues mostly cause of the owners that had them! Either not taking them to the vets when they were needed, not getting them spayed or neutered, not feeding them right, not training them, not taking the time to be social with them... SOME ONE NEEDS TO HELP!!
Pros: Loved animals
Cons: To Small
