I have adopted many horses (too many to count!) and we are also a foster home for IHR. If you ever want to be apart of the miracle in adopting a horse and knowing the love that they have when they figure out they are safe and loved then IHR is the place to go!

They are the greatest bunch of people that I am pleased to call "friends" and how they can take a horse that is sick, starved or injured and watch them blossom into beautiful animals with the sparkle back in their eyes and willing to give all the love they have to give.

Our family has been associated with IHR for 3 yrs. now and I have lost count as to the horses we have fostered or adopted but the whole time we have gotten so much joy and love from everyone of them and whenever we had problems, the "crew" at IHR was always on hand to help with any problem that has come around.

If you have the time, love, patience and space please consider either fostering or adopting a horse from IHR or if you aren't able to then would you please give a donation as they do not get any federal money and work only on donations to keep the horses safe.

Open your heart and help to give a horse the second chance at life and love that they deserve!

These folks were very helpful in identfying a problem with my horse. I shipped blood to them and they isolated the problem that my two regular vets had missed. I can't say enough good things about the people at the Indiana Horse Rescue.Thank you!

I took a horse from an acquaintance's farm to the rescue in July. Her picture is on the bottom of their page. As they mentioned, the improvement in this horse in one month from the condition I brought her in is absolutely nothing short of fantastic! When I brought her in, she had no will to live. It was estimated she was choking and they stayed up for 24 hours trying to encourage her to live. Her feet were a mess, she had never had her teeth floated and therefore, couldn't eat well. The team at IHR never gave up on her. They endured my many, many, MANY calls to them checking up on this horse that stole my heart and were kind enough to not take it out on me when the horse's former own backed out on providing the necessary donation fee. I am so impressed with these people and try to do all that I can for them. They have the ability to do so much and care so much. I think it would be fabulous to give a team like this the necessary funds to complete their mission in life. I know they've changed my life and one little thoroughbred mare near and dear to my heart no matter where she ends up. Wherever she goes, I know it will be a loving home well chosen for her by her new friends at IHR.

I've been a supporter for many years. I have always felt them to be the most selfless rescue I have ever seen. They are so concerned about helping the horse in any way possible, no matter the situation.

We recently held a trail ride to raise funds for the Indiana Horse Rescue. 100 riders from around Indiana came to support the cause, including a few riding horses adopted from IHR. Some were quite young as shown in one of the photos.

Please, if you are looking for a new equine companion, consider meeting those lucky horses that have found a temporary rest at IHR.
