Its been a rough 6 months for Greenfield Hancock animal Mangement. They have gone through a director change and a few employee Changes, but things are looking up. New walls and flooring meet you when you walk in. Happy well fed dogs grace the amazingly clean kennels, each with an ID tag and collar. Color coded signs tell you what animal is avaliable and those that are on stray hold. The quaratine area has a new gate instead of shower curtians and new kennels. Each dog has a comfortable Kurunda bed and a kong. The staff works hard to enrich their lives while they are here. The cats have a new area with new cages. Each cat has a dome or cat swing and a toy or two. The shelter uses recycled wood pellets as litter to help with the enviroment. Every animal that enters the shelter is Vaccinated with either a canine 5 way and bordatella or a feline 4 way, Flea treated with advantage multi and wormed. They are also fitted with a collar with the shelters information as well as the animals.
The staff is courtous and knowlegeable. It is obvious that the staff truely enjoys their jobs and strive to change the shelters reputation after 20 years of Bad management. Overall this shelter provides a happy, healthy, safe enviroment for all animals. The staff do everything they can to find homes for the animals there, using euthanasia as it should be a last resort.
