I have adopted two cats from Friendship shelter. Both had been there a while and were rather shy, but blossomed in a home environment.

The adoption process was well organized. I also felt that they were trying to be sure the animals went to good homes.

They have caring and enthusiastic volunteers.

Pros: Kind care, well run

Cons: Limited space, don't take stray dogs

We adopted our dog from the Friendship APL. The staff was helpful in our adoption of our pet. The adoption process did not end the day we took Onyx home. They made sure we received the training necessary to make it a successful adoption. The staff donate time and money to keep the facility operating.

Pros: A caring staff that is willing to do anything to help the pets

I love this shelter, I have been going there since I was a little girl. I still to this day go there just to visit the animals and take them out for a little walk. I really do hate leaving them though. The staff there are great and offer great knowledge about the animals that are there for adoption.

While looking for a dog to adopt, we visited the Friendship APL. They have been doing a lot of good for many years. My Grandmother was a shelter volunteer years ago. We ultimately adopted from another organization but it had more to do with finding the right dog for us than the shelter itself.

Pros: Rescues many animals in need

I have had three pets from this shelter. My last is Mouser, an older cat I got from them. He is the best cat I ever had. He was four when I got him, and I am so glad they had him waiting for me. I love him and the shelter for providing the opportunity to give Mouser his forever home.

Pros: Educates, cares, good location

Cons: Needs more space for dogs and needs more play area for cats
