Impressive
posted 4 years ago
I was very impressed with this facility overall---not so much the PLACE, but rather the people who were serving the animals. I saw a true concern and a lot of care that went into housing these animals. I had a chance to talk with some of the personnel about the building's needs and from that determined that I must enter this "review" to help out. With better insulation and the addition of outside runs this could be a first class place. The people who run it are already first class.
Pros: I saw a true concern for the animals being cared for...
Cons: the building is cold due to poor insulation and needs outside runs

I love visiting this place!
posted 4 years ago
I have not adopted an animal from here but my kids and I go there sometimes to play with the cats and dogs. Everyone is so nice and helpful even knowing I'm not there to adopt. It is ALWAYS clean and they have tons of toys for the dogs so we can play with them. They have a little outdoor area that is fenced where you can play with the dogs off leash. It is great. My kids get so excited every time I say we are going to visit the shelter.
Pros: Always clean, Nice clean animals, Friendly Staff
Cons: None

Needs your support!
posted 4 years ago
Great place - you can tell they really care. It's sad to see how long some of the animals have to stay in the sheter. BUT it's a no kill shelter, so they will never be put down to make room for the next batch of animals. I think that reason alone, this shelter deserves more recognition from Lorain County for its contribution to dealing with an overpopulation problem created by ignorant human beings.
Pros: No kill shelter!
Cons: Not enough $

Friendship APL
posted 4 years ago
We've always adopted our animals - either shelters or strays. My husband adopted our old dog from the APL over 22 years ago. He's been gone for 4 years now. We just adopted a kitten from there a couple months ago. He's been a great addition. You can tell the staff really cares about the animals and they do their best to keep all the cages clean and the animals happy.
Pros: Great staff, lots of animals waiting to be adopted
Cons: None
