Humane Society of Myrtle Beach Inc.

The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, Inc is an old building but the staff does an outstanding job of trying to keep it clean and animal friendly.
They are trying to raise money for a new shelter if anyone can help please do it.

Pros: the staff are caring and concerned about the animals and knowledgeable

Cons: too small for the need in the area

It seemed to me that the dogs really didn't mind being at the shelter. They seemed very happy and content. The kennels were exceptionally clean. However, some of the kennels were marked with the wrong dog. They need to be sure to change descriptions of dogs at the same time they are moved to a different kennel.

The staff is very friendly and dedicated. Were so excited to have an adoption happening! However, staff seems to need more freedom in answering questions and making decisions when Kennel Manager is not in office.

Overall, I found my experience to be a pleasant one and I know that they are doing the very best they can with the resources they have available.

Pros: Animals are well looked after. Staff seems to love their work. Kennels very clean.

Cons: Staff needs the ability to handle adoptions when Office Manager is out of shelter
