Animal Advocates of Howard County

Twice I have see dogs on the Animal Advocates of Howard County website and tried to adopt from them. At first, Laurie is responsive and provides information about the dog. After that, she doesn't respond to e-mails or phone calls. My first experience with them was about 16 months ago, they didn't follow up on my application, but I found another dog and moved on. This time, I applied about a month ago, and haven't received any word from them. My references have told me they haven't even called them to follow up on my application.

I've adopted many shelter dogs and have owned up to three dogs at a time. I have always provided my pets with much love and care, and all other agencies have approved me, so I just don't get what's going on. This group advertises animals, but doesn't really seem to want to place them.

Pros: appear to be well intentioned

Cons: don't follow up on applications and adoptions
