A lot of shelters seem to "do a lot with so little resources", but this is especially true of PAL. The all-volunteer staff is highly dedicated to their cause and truly care about ALL the animals. I was really touched by PAL staff's willingness to even help rescue Katrina victims in New Orleans--despite already being overworked "at home". They make a lot of sacrifices in the interests of homeless animals, and I can't think of a more worthy shelter to receive a make-over. Good luck!

My experience with the person who is the director of this establishment who calls herself "Barb" treated me in a way that turned me off from ever wanting to deal with her again. I've searched online and have discovered some very distasteful truths regarding the conduct of this person. Somehow, I'd rather not deal with such an individual.

This shelter was great! We had visited many others, and we were not thrilled with their staff, the cleaniness or the shape of the animals. We found our dog Charlie there, and fell in love with him! Since this was our first dog- Barb gave us treats and a couple of toys. He was completely up-to-date with all of his shots, which was a less expense for us. After we took Charlie home, I received an email from one of the volunteer's who raved about Charlie, she even went as far as to send me pictures of him. You could tell that this shelter and the staff really cared for the animals. We had a great experience there.

Pros: Area that we could get to know Charlie and play for a little while

Cons: Knowledge about our dog's past

I Love PAL! They are so caring and really look out for the animals! im in the process of adopting a dog that i absolutely fell in love with and the process is so easy! barb and the volunteers have alot on their shoulders, the only thing i wish would change about the shelter is that more people would be willing to volunteer! but as for the shelter itself it is very well taken care of, very clean, very warm and heated when its cold outside. WE LOVE PAL!

WHAT GREAT THINGS YOU ARE DOING ON A SHOE STRING BUDGET. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE EMPHASIS YOU PUT UPON ADOPTING OLDER DOGS. I HAVE A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART FOR THEM. MANY TIMES THEIR OWNERS HAVE DIED, LEAVING THEM ALONE. IT IS TRULY A SOLID BONDING THAT THESE DOGS DO AND IT'S LIKE THEY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE SAVED THEM.
