Great Place

posted 5 years ago

I adopted a puppy from here a couple of weeks ago. This dog is the love of our lives. The people were great! As a former rescue worker, I know the hard work that these people do and that animals from shelters sometimes have health issues that the staff are unaware of. I had to sign a paper that said they cannot guarantee the health of the animal because they don't know the history. It is a chance you take when you adopt a shelter pet. The people there are volunteers and are devoting their time to animals, not for $$. I for one commend these people who are doing the best they can. If anyone thinks they can do a better job, then by all means, step up to the plate. It's not as easy as you might think from the outside looking in.

Pros: Caring staff

Cons: None

Wonderful shelter

posted 5 years ago

I have adopted 2 dogs from Adirondack Save-A-Stray and have had the best experience both times. I found the staff both helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help. Both of my dogs have lived long, happy and healthy lives, one to 8 years and the other still going strong at 15 years old. Thank you Save-A-Stray for the opportunity to have both of these wonderful dogs in my life!!

Pros: everything

Cons: none
