When someone mentions Bobbi and the Strays, they should not only think about Bobbi herself as the complete mastermind of the shelter but you should also take time to think of the top notch people behind the operation of the shelter as well.

The four people that come to mind are, Sandy, Tabitha, Laura and Kristie. All take care of different aspects of the "behind the scenes" operation but all 4 have something in common... The love for the animals and taking proper care of the animals and proper care in finding them permanent homes. All of them work day jobs but have such a passion for the strays that they devote all their extra time, every day to bettering this animals lives.

One word for that... Commendable!

A couple of years ago I was able to help rescue an injured Collie from the side of the Grand Central Parkway. We called everyone we could think of and the only organization that was willing to help us find a home for this sweetie was Bobbi and the Strays.

One hand washes the other, so we became volunteers for this organization and our lives have become richer for it. We've learned a lot, gotten to know some very nice people, and have even broadened our personal outlooks from being "dog" people to becoming "dog and cat" people. Through fostering we've gotten to know, help, love and enjoy more animals in two years than most people would in four lifetimes.

There are so many animals in need, and so many people desperately trying to help them, but one of the biggest obstacles, besides the constant battle to raise funds, is space to house them. Bobbi's space is very limited, and even with her network of foster homes, there are still times when there is no room at the inn. Bobbi has a number of dogs in her care that have been guests of her shelter for several years. They are loved and cared for but are waiting for an especially patient and understanding family to give them their forever homes. These dogs are guaranteed this safe and caring environment for however long they need it, even if it's for the rest of their lives.

Space. With more space more lives could be saved.

Please help Bobbi to get the additional space she so desperately needs.

I volunteer for this organization and have to tell you that everyone really cares about the animals. They go above and beyond to do what needs to be done, even if that means taking in extra animals into their homes when they're already stretched to their limits. Bobbi and the Strays desperately needs to have a larger space.

I've been to the Vetport to help someone transport an animal a few times, and have seen the hardworking staff in action. I also make it a point to stop in at Bobbi's adoption center whenever I'm at The Mall, and the animals are always well taken care of.
