Our first experience with CAHS was in 2005 when we went to look at a dog I'd seen in PetFinder. That dog was sweet but a little too high strung, but "Rover" in the cage next door was quietly "begging" for attention. I asked Roz, the head of the shelter, to tell me his story, & she said that he was a good dog. We were on our way over to Maine & said we'd be back. If he was still there, we would take him out. On our way back, we did stop & Rover ended up coming home with us. Roz seemed to have a natural ability to size people up, & they don't seem to be so anxious to place their animals that they would send them off with the wrong people. Rover became Hobbit, & Hobbit is the love of our lives. The shelter was clean & bright. They bring the dogs outside in a fenced area so you can get an idea of how they respond to being free of the cage environment. Then you can also walk them around. I would go back to Conway again any time & highly recommend them.

CAHS, The Conway Area Humane Society, is a donor-supported, non-profit organization that helps homeless and neglected animals. CAHS depends on donations from individuals to keep the shelter operating.

The CAHS offers shelter, medical care, and love to every animal. The shelter receives owner-surrendered animals to give them a second chance.

To better promote lifelong relationships, the shelter staff works to match the lifestyles of humans and animals.

I adopted my dog Lily from this humane society!!! I loved the place it was very clean, and everyone was so friendly. I was so happy I found this place, and was able to get Lily. Lily is the best dog ever too. They even wanted updated pictures of her, I could tell they care alot.
