The South Kingstown Pound helps to save the strays of Narragansett and South Kingstown. Animals are returned to their owner, but if they are not claimed, they are adopted into new homes. The facility is clean and the dogs have large exercise pens. At night, all animals are housed inside and are safe. The Pound accepts donations of clay cat litter, canned and dry pet food, and funds for medical expenses and pet supplies. Since the Shelter receives assistance from several veterinarians, they are able to stretch the $$. The South Kingstown Pound is my preferred place to adopt.
Pros: Open seven days a week and answers the phone
Cons: Animals may be claimed by their owners
