Pros: they provide a much-needed service in our town
Cons: feral cats need socialization
The Cat Care Coalition should be commended for rescuing the many cats that get dumped in the park. The fact that Chico is a college town means that too many animals need rescuing when their young owners graduate and leave the community, also leaving their animals behind. What adopting families need to understand is that some of these cats become feral and therefore need a lot of socialization when first adopted. My sister adopted a cat from the CCC, and after 2 years, it is finally acting like a domesticated house cat.
