Started in 1999, you register your dogs by filling out the form. Your dog's profile will be stored in the database. Thereafter, if and when your dog is ever lost, log in and change your dog's status to "Lost." Your dog's profile will immediately included in the search feature for lost dogs, and people worldwide will have instant access to your dog's photo and information. When your dog is found, just log back in, and change your dog’s status to "Safe at Home."
This service is FREE and has helped recover many lost animals.

you can also have the option to allow them to email you if there's a dog lost in your vacinity so that you can take part in reuniting owners with their dogs. When you register you put your city/state and then a vague vacinity so that they can alert you to any dogs lost in your area.
