Review Details

Each year the Noah Project-a no kill animal shelter has a night of food and fellowship for the main purpose of fund raising. This event over the years has turned into not only a huge source of donations, but a big night of fun for those who attend. The location varies each year, as does the venue. Typically there is a silent auction, a Chinese action, items for sale, a large array of food, music and a fun loving master of ceremony. Over the past 3 years a new community award has been given out to businesses or individuals who support the animals vocally in the community and strive to the betterment of animals etc... This award is the Kane Award. Named after a police service dog who was killed in the line of duty - its a prestigious award. The award is handed out by Kane's human police handler. Each year the recipient is kept a secret until that night. It has been a big success. We even invite community service dogs to walk around and participate in the fundraiser. The first time this was done was 2 years ago, with Max - Clock Funeral Home's Therapy Dog. The entire night he went from table to table in his working attire offering unconditional love (and secretly looking for left overs!) I would encourage any organization looking to change up their fund raising actives to consider do such an event. Its fun and rewarding - on all levels!

This is a great event that supports a great shelter. To be able to go and have a great time, and support homeless animals at the same time is a wonderful opportunity.
