Pros: smashing stereotypes, rescuing homeless/abandoned/abused animals
Cons: not enough funding or foster homes to do even more
I first learned of the Rescue Ink guys from an article this summer in the New York Times. I;ve been following them closely since, and these guys rock. Of course I love what they do (especially since most of the city dogs they rescue are pits), but I love *how* they do it...by participating in many (many!) public events, educating children (and adults), and bringing overall awareness to the importance of stamping out animal cruelty. And they do it in a way I've never seen...these larger than life, gregarious, tattooed dudes with hearts bigger than a Harley roadster. :-) I'm just waiting for them to get their own TV show.
