A year ago we got a dog from the Sterling Shelter. He was wonderful for the short time we had him but the day after we got him he started getting sick. We contacted the shelter and handed him back to them for treatment (and receiving our money back). After numerous visits from the facility's vet and numerous tests, the dog was only getting sicker and it was determined to put him down in the best interest of the dog. Throughout this whole process, Leigh at the shelter was absolutely wonderful, updating us on the progress and results and even providing her personal cell if we were to have any questions. It was a very tough experience for us but based on our conversations it was also one for her too.
After a few months we went back to the shelter and got Jack, a happy healthy puppy who has been an absolute delight to have in our lives. When it comes time to get Jack a friend to play with, the Sterling Animal Shelter will be the first, and likely only, place we will go.
