Animal Rescue League

I can't say enough positive things about Animal Rescue League. I have been a volunteer with this organization for about 6 years and am active daily with the care of the animals. ARL goes the extra mile to ensure the animals are healthy and well cared for - we offer them a homelike environment and have even established a cageless adoption center inside our local Petco store. We believe it to be the first one of its kind where the animals are free to move about the room, lounge on sofas and even watch DVD's! We have had up to 22 cats at a time inside the room and customers are amazed that they all get along. It is part of the magic of ARL.

ARL doesn't neglect or forget the so called "feral" cats either. They are part of the group and I don't think anyone could point one out. These cats that are considered throw-aways by some are dearest to our hearts and we work daily to earn their trust. Love and patience go a long way - our logo includes a heart. These animals have a piece of ours!

Pros: This is a no-kill organization dedicated to finding the right match for both the adopting family and the animal.

Cons: ARL likes to adopt out young kittens in pairs and bonded cats go together. Sometimes you just need a buddy!

I adopted Houdini, my 6 yr old cat from Animal Rescue League about 14 months ago. He is the best cat I've ever had. I believe it is because of the love he received from the staff of Animal Rescue League during his stay there. Everyone there is so nice and the cats are treated as if they are their members of their own family.
