STLSDP is amazing

posted 5 years ago

I have always thought STLSDP was a great organization - from the first time my mom adopted a dog from them to the second and third times she did, and from when I adopted Pluffy from them to now, when I'm a foster for the group.

Everyone is so friendly and supportive, whether you are adopting from them or volunteering in some capacity.

So yes, my immediate family and I have adopted 4 dogs total from STLSDP. And I have had 4 wonderful fosters as of yet, with successful placement of 3!

If you're interested in adopting or volunteering or fostering or donating, visit the website www.stlsdp.org or stop by Kirkwood Petco on Saturdays between 11-3!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Not many!

Thank you for all you do with the older kids

posted 5 years ago

A big HORRAY to all those volunteers with the STL Senior Dog Project. It seems the "general public" gets too fixed on puppies and not enough exposure is given to those kiddos who are still puppy at heart!

I met a St. Louis Senior Dog Project volunteer today and learned so much about the group. As everyone else who has been exposed to those poor pup souls who have been bred, and over-bred this group helps to rescue those dogs who can no longer "serve their purpose" of breeding. I thought it was so neat the STL Senior Dog Project also applies and receives grants through "The Grey Muzzle Organization". This organization distributes grant money for the sernior dogs with severe health anomalies that are keeping them from being fostered, adopted, etc.

The STL Sr Dog Project does not have a facility so volunteers keep the dogs at their homes.

Keep doing what you are doing - You are making a difference and People do care!

Pros: knowledgeable volunteers, connected to the Gray Muzzle Organization

Cons: how can there be any cons to a group with such a big heart?
