Paws for Consideration

Paws for Consideration is a non-profit animal advocacy organization. We are dedicated to finding compassionate responsible foster homes to assist in the rescue of animals that end up with a death sentence at the shelters in our community. To address the overpopulation crisis, we actively promote spay and neuter programs through educational information and paid advertisements. We are an all-volunteer organization and receive no local, state or federal funding. Donations from concerned citizens and fundraisers are our only source of income. We do not have a shelter, all of our animals are in foster homes!

They have the Best Interest of the Animals
posted 6 years ago
Paws for Consideration is a 1 yr young group that has grown not only in volunteers and fosters, but also in wisdom. They do all they can with the few resources they have available to rescue and save as many dogs and cats from the High Kill shelters as they possibly can. They promote the spay/neuter programs, and fully vet all animals to insure they are healthy and ready to be adopted into their forever homes. They are strictly a volunteer and foster home run non-profit group and when there are no fosters, then they are unable to rescue those that need rescued; which usually results in the unnecessary end of a dog or cats life. Their goal is to have a sanctuary facility of their own someday soon, so they can save more animals. Without the super foster families and volunteers they have, they would not have been able to save all the ones they have saved thus far.
You can help by becoming a foster family or a volunteer. It is very rewarding to see a dog or a cat get a 2nd lease on life, and it allows us to teach ourselves and our children about compassion and speaking out when others or the animals in this instance cannot speak for themselves.
I am but one person, and cannot save them all, but together, we can unite, and save so many more!
Please take some time and go to the shelters (Jefferson County Animal Control, Gasconade Shelter), and take the time to look into the eyes of these animals, and many of them, if not all, will let you see into their very soul.
A poem from shelter animals:
An Uncertain Life From A Shelter Animals
Point of View
I look around & all I see are scared animals just like me sitting behind the bars of what seems to be eternity.
They have us locked in small cages, allowing us to stew alone, in our own pee and poo.
Sometimes they feed us, many days they don't. Our tummies are rumbling, we hope they feed us soon.
We don't understand why we're here, and why our families have not come for us. We cry alone, in a dark cold cell, waiting for our angels to rescue us.
Many days go by, and often we see strangers that bring us treats, maybe even pet us, but we are left behind to wonder why no one wants us.
What did we do besides love our people unconditionally? Sure, we may have our faults, but so do you. Just because we look different than you doesn't mean we don't have feelings too.
Take a chance on us, you will be pleasantly surprised by all the love and affection we will offer you!
Please rescue us today, and take us home with you. Give us a chance to live and to dance!

pfc wouldn't take my until I dropped her off at Jefferson County animal control. They told me they were to full and couldn't take my dog. Then they went and took her from animal control. what is up with that? I didn't want to take my dog to animal control but she was a pit bull and not many rescues will take a pit bull.
Pros: they save lots of dogs
Cons: wouldn't take my dog
